Your fifth grade year just finished up and I am anxious to start setting up our classroom. I've been doing a lot of thinking lately; what do you all look like? How tall are you? What are your goals for sixth grade? Will you like my plans for star-gazing parties? Mostly I've been thinking about ways to make our year one to remember!

Let me tell you a little bit about myself. I love to run, camp, hike, cook, and sing. This summer you'll find me at my pool or riding my bike because I'm training for my first Triathlon! Do you know what that is?

A few interesting things about me are that I absolutely hate seafood, I was once hit by a car and I have wanted to be a school teacher since I was five-years-old.

I recently graduated from Utah State University last year and have been working at an elementary school that is actually apart of my college.

Edith Bowen Laboratory School

The students at the elementary school actually get to help teach college students! I was a student teacher at this school in the 1st and 4th grade, but this school year has been busy for me because I have been teaching in EVERY grade. We just finished up all of our SAGE testing and my students are all ecstatic to be finished. I hope SAGE wasn't too grueling for you. My students' last day of school is this week-- May 29th. As soon as the school year ends for me, I will be moving from my home of the last 5 years and I am a little sad; however, I am happy to say I am more excited than sad! I think know 6th grade with all of you is going to ROCK. Within the next few days, I'm packing up my home, moving to Farmington and you will finish your 5th grade year.

By the time you read this, summer will be nearing it's end, school will be starting and we will be getting to know one another!

Mrs. J

What was the best part of your summer?

How was SAGE testing for you?

What are you most looking forward to as a 6th grader?
